Listening to music with lyrics while studying can be distracting for many, as the words may compete for attention. However, some people find that music helps with focus, especially if it’s familiar or played at a low volume. It often depends on personal preferences and the type of task. For memorizing something complex like 5 pages of a book, instrumental or ambient music may be more effective.
